We are currently delivering a workshop on Energy Efficiency Improvement in Fiji: Together with the Pacific Power Association (PPA), the Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership is currently in the Republic of Fiji delivering a workshop on energy efficiency improvement to the Southern Pacific Islands’ power utilities from June 11th to 15th. Led by on our side by our member the Kansai Electric Power Company (Japan), this workshop is designed to train PPA member utilities’ managers, engineers and technicians in the areas of energy efficiency and demand-side management. A second workshop targeting the Northern Pacific Islands’ utilities will be held in Guam in August 2012.

Eight 2012 Education for Sustainable Energy Development (ESED) Scholarships were awarded at the end of May: The Global Sustainable Electricity Partnership awarded its 2012 ESED Scholarships to eight outstanding students from developing countries.
