The Academic Achievement Scholarship (AAS) is a one-year scholarship, that begins during the Fall semester only. This is a competitive scholarship that allows both international and non-resident recipients to pay Texas resident tuition during the term of the scholarship.

Scholarship Requirements:

  1. Students who receive the AAS must enroll and complete a minimum of 15 semester credit hours of 5000 or 6000 level courses (applicable to the degree the student is seeking) during the fall and spring terms. A minimum of 6 of the 15 semester hours must be taken in the initial semester of the award.
  2. Students must maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point average (for every semester, as well as a cumulative 3.0), satisfactory progress in the degree program for which they were admitted, and meet any departmental criteria for satisfactory performance and progress. These criteria apply for the entire academic year in which the AAS is awarded.

George Washington University, USA offer Hyundai Scholarships for South Korean and U.S. citizens. This scholarships covers full tuition (fees excluded) and may be renewed for one to four additional years, depending upon the program of study. Renewal applications are required.

Awards are made annually to both South Korean and U.S. citizens. All recipients must be full-time masters or doctoral students, and demonstrate high scholastic achievement by maintaining required academic averages for their programs of studies.

Incoming Korean students must have minimum TOEFL scores of 600 on the written test or 105 on the internet-based exam, or an IELTS overall band score of 7.0 (with no individual band below 6.0).

Requirements

  • Candidates must not be currently working of studying abroad.
  • Applicants for doctoral degree program must have master's degree and be under the age of 40.
  • The relevant academic entry requirements must be fulfilled, including a high level of English language proficiency and a Master degree.
  • Candidates must hold an acceptance letter (standard format) from Leiden University.
  • Candidates should satisfy the CSC selection criteria by completing the CSC Application Form and the CSC Employer Reference Form.
  • Successful candidates must return to China upon completion of their research.
