VLIR-UOS ((Vlaamse Interuniversitaire Raad - University Development Cooperation) awards scholarships is given for student from from Africa, Asia and Latin-America to follow a training or master programme at a Dutch speaking university or university college in Belgium.

You can apply for a scholarship from October 2011 (master programmes) or November 2011 (master programmes organised at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven and all training programmes). VLIR-UOS enables innovative partnerships between universities and university colleges in Flanders and in developing countries. VLIR-UOS aims to find sustainable responses to global challenges and local needs.

Eligibility Criteria

  • You are a resident AND national of one of the countries on the country list.
  • You are not older than 40 years (master programme) or you are not older than 45 years (training programme)
  • You have the required English proficiency.
  • Professional experience and employment perspectives are not required for a master programme, but they can be a competitive advantage for selection, depending on the programme.
  • Only for employees of a university that currently receives support from VLIR-UOS through the IUC programme

The Australian Research Council (ARC) has funded a research fellowship within the Linkage Project Beyond Bushfires. The research team is seeking a postdoctoral social network researcher to join its multi-disciplinary team. Your principle accountabilities are coordination and execution of the quantitative social network components of the project, but the role also includes broader quantitative responsibilities.

Eligibility:

  1. PhD in the field of psychology, sociology, social networks, population health or equivalent.
  2. Demonstrated expertise in data management and analysis of large and complex data sets.
  3. Successful track record in research publications.
  4. Understanding of evidence-informed public health, the social determinants of health, healthy public policy, inequities and the ways in which health can be advanced through policy and the translation of research into practice.
  5. Strong communication skills to deal with partner organizations, research team, data collection agency, and media.
  6. Demonstrated project management skills and preparation of high quality reports.
  7. High-level organizational and interpersonal skills.
  8. Experience preparing funding and ethics submissions.

(SYTE) established an endowed scholarship fund honoring Anne Larkin, Lesley University professor emerita and former director of the SYTE Cambridge Chapter, which was housed at Lesley from 1991-2008. This scholarship will be under the direction of the Graduate School of Education (GSOE) and will be awarded to graduate students who have been accepted into the GSOE's Special Education Program. Eligibility:
  • Have a strong academic background;
  • Be actively involved in community service;
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to the field of special education.
  • Be newly accepted to an on-campus Graduate School of Education Master's degree program in special education;
  • Have earned a minimum GPA of a 3.0 in a previous degree program;
  • Be enrolled for a minimum of 6 credits to receive scholarship funds.
  • Applicants must have a complete admissions application on file or be accepted to an eligible Master's degree program for spring 2012.
